Long Term Grants Eligibility & How to Apply

The Gold Humanism Honor Society encourages its members to be leaders in championing humanism in healthcare. GHHS understands how important funding can be to get a novel project idea running and it also may take longer than one year to complete. For that reason, we offer a long-term grant of up to $1500 in year one and a second grant of up to $1500 in year two to support projects created, implemented, and concluded within 24 months of receiving grant funding. Grant funding will be divided into three payments; the first third will be awarded upfront, the second third will be awarded upon approval of the interim report, and the final third awarded upon approval of the final report.

A GHHS chapter, resident, or fellow may apply for and receive only one long-term grant biennially but may reapply at the conclusion of their project in subsequent years. Please note that grant funding is limited and additional avenues to attain funding should also be considered.

If for any reason, you are unable to begin your project within the year you applied for the grant, funding will not be rolled over.

Applications for the Long-Term Grant are now closed. GHHS staff will review and make a determination regarding the final awarding of the grant funding within 3-4 weeks of the close of the grant application period. [Please note that the review date is subject to change at any moment].

Eligibility Criteria:

  • GHHS membership (trainee members including students, residents, and fellows affiliated with an institution)
  • The GHHS member applying for and leading the Long-Term Grant project should not be leaving the institution until after the completion of the project.
  • If you are a student member, your GHHS chapter should be in good financial standing with the national organization. If you are unsure whether your institution is in good financial standing, please contact ltvito@gold-foundation.org.
  • For grant requests submitted by resident and fellow GHHS members, a preference will be given to dues paying GHHS members in their 4th year of residency training and beyond.
