GHHS Thrive & ConnectThe Humanism in Practice Subcommittee invites all members of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS)—students, residents, fellows, attending physicians, educators, chapter leaders, and honorees—to join us for GHHS Thrive & Connect, a quarterly one-hour virtual gathering designed to nurture both personal well-being and professional connection. At GHHS, membership doesn't end at graduation. Humanism is a lifelong commitment, and our community extends far beyond medical school. The Humanism in Practice Subcommittee is dedicated to supporting members throughout every stage of their careers by creating opportunities to reconnect, reflect, and continue practicing humanism together. Each session offers time to both thrive and connect. Thrive by: - Unwinding after a busy day in a welcoming community.
- Prioritizing self-care and personal well-being.
- Exploring topics that spark curiosity, creativity, and inspiration.
- Practicing mindfulness, reflection, or other wellness activities.
- Learning strategies to sustain joy, resilience, and purpose throughout your career.
Connect by: - Meeting fellow GHHS members from across the country and across career stages.
- Building meaningful relationships rooted in shared values.
- Learning from one another's experiences and perspectives.
- Finding community with others who are passionate about compassionate, humanistic care.
- Engaging in thoughtful conversations that inspire personal and professional growth.
Throughout the year, each Thrive & Connect session will center on a different theme. Topics may include: - The arts and humanities in medicine
- Wellness and mindfulness
- Career transitions and professional identity
- Humanism in clinical practice
- Community engagement and service
- Storytelling, reflection, and narrative medicine
- Leadership, mentorship, and lifelong learning
As new themes are announced, this invitation will be updated with additional details. We invite you to register now and save the dates for these meaningful quarterly gatherings. Whether you're reconnecting with longtime colleagues or meeting fellow GHHS members for the first time, Thrive & Connect is an opportunity to recharge, build community, and celebrate the lifelong practice of humanism in medicine. We look forward to seeing you there!
